Description
CD8 Monoclonal Antibody [NYRmCD8] (CPAB0364)
The CD8 Polyclonal Antibody (CPAB0364) is a vital tool for researchers studying CD8, a key cell surface protein involved in immune responses. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and is optimized for Western blot applications. By binding specifically to the CD8 protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an essential component in studies related to immunology and cancer research.CD8, also known as the cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein 8, plays a crucial role in immune function by identifying and eliminating infected or abnormal cells.
Understanding the expression and regulation of CD8 is fundamental in investigating the body's immune response to diseases such as cancer, infections, and autoimmune disorders. By targeting CD8, researchers can gain valuable insights into how the immune system can be manipulated for therapeutic purposes in various pathological conditions.

Background: | CD8 is a cell surface glycoprotein found on most cytotoxic T lymphocytes that mediates efficient cell-cell interactions within the immune system. CD8 acts as a co-receptor, and the T-cell receptor on the T lymphocyte recognize antigen displayed by an antigen presenting cell (APC) in the context of class I MHC molecules. The functional CD8 is either a homodimer composed of two alpha chains, or a heterodimer composed of one alpha and one beta chain. Both alpha and beta chains share significant homology to immunoglobulin variable light chains. CD8 identifies cytotoxic/suppressor t-cells that interact with MHC class I bearing targets. CD8 is thought to play a role in the process of t-cell mediated killing. CD8 alpha chains bind to class-I MHC molecules alpha-3 domains. |
