The CD59 Glycoprotein Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1689) is a valuable tool for researchers studying CD59, a cell surface glycoprotein known for its role in regulating the body's immune response. This polyclonal antibody, produced in rabbits, is specifically reactive with human samples and has been extensively validated for use in Western blot applications.CD59, also known as protectin, is an important component of the body's innate immune system, functioning to protect cells from damage by the complement system. Dysregulation of CD59 has been implicated in various diseases, including autoimmune disorders and inflammatory conditions.
By using the CD59 Glycoprotein Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can accurately detect and analyze CD59 expression in a variety of cell types, making it an invaluable tool for immunology and cancer research.Understanding the function of CD59 is essential for developing targeted therapies for diseases where immune dysregulation plays a role. By utilizing the CD59 Glycoprotein Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can gain valuable insights into the mechanisms of immune regulation and potentially identify new therapeutic targets for treating a range of immune-related conditions.

This gene encodes a cell surface glycoprotein that regulates complement-mediated cell lysis, and it is involved in lymphocyte signal transduction. This protein is a potent inhibitor of the complement membrane attack complex, whereby it binds complement C8 and/or C9 during the assembly of this complex, thereby inhibiting the incorporation of multiple copies of C9 into the complex, which is necessary for osmolytic pore formation. This protein also plays a role in signal transduction pathways in the activation of T cells. Mutations in this gene cause CD59 deficiency, a disease resulting in hemolytic anemia and thrombosis, and which causes cerebral infarction. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants, which encode the same protein, have been identified for this gene.
