Description
CD46 Monoclonal Antibody [PAT2G9AT] (CPAB0341)
The CD46 Polyclonal Antibody (CPAB0341) is a powerful tool for researchers studying CD46, a key cell surface protein involved in immune regulation and complement activation. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and reactivity with human samples, making it a reliable choice for Western blot applications. By binding to CD46, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis of the protein in various cell types, making it an essential tool for investigating immune responses and complement activation pathways.CD46, also known as membrane cofactor protein (MCP), plays a crucial role in immune regulation by protecting host cells from complement-mediated damage and modulating immune responses. Dysregulation of CD46 function has been implicated in various diseases, including autoimmune disorders, infectious diseases, and cancer.
By studying the role of CD46 in immune regulation, researchers can gain insights into the pathogenesis of these diseases and develop targeted therapies to modulate immune responses and enhance host defense mechanisms.Overall, the CD46 Polyclonal Antibody (CPAB0341) is a valuable tool for researchers interested in exploring the complex interplay between CD46, immune regulation, and disease pathogenesis. Its high specificity and reactivity with human samples make it a versatile option for a wide range of research applications in immunology, cancer biology, and infectious diseases.

Background: | Membrane cofactor protein isoform 14 (CD46), is a type I membrane protein which has cofactor activity for inactivation of complement components C3b and C4b by serum factor I. This function resides in the complement control protein repeats (CCPs), with CCP1€“4 vital for regulation. CD46 is also involved in the fusion of the spermatozoa with the oocyte during fertilization. CD46 is common in thymocytes, T cells, B cells, monocytes, granulocytes, NK cells, platelets, endothelial cells, epithelial cells, fibroblasts, placenta and sperm. |
