Description
CD44 Monoclonal Antibody, Biotin [mCD44] (CPAB0373)
The CD44 Polyclonal Antibody (CPAB0373) is a valuable tool for researchers studying CD44, a cell surface glycoprotein involved in cell adhesion and migration. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and is suitable for use in Western blot applications. By targeting the CD44 protein, this antibody allows for accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an essential component for investigations in immunology, cancer research, and stem cell biology.CD44 is known to play a crucial role in processes such as cell proliferation, migration, and survival, making it a key player in cancer progression and metastasis.
Studies have also shown its involvement in immune responses and inflammation, suggesting its potential as a target for therapeutic interventions in diseases like cancer and autoimmune disorders. By understanding the function of CD44, researchers can develop novel strategies for diagnosing and treating these conditions, ultimately improving patient outcomes.

Background: | CD44 is a cell-surface glycoprotein that plays a role in cell-cell interactions, cell adhesion and migration. CD44 is a receptor for hyaluronic acid and also interacts with other ligands, such as osteopontin, collagens, and matrix metalloproteinases. CD44 participates in a wide variety of cellular functions such as lymphocyte activation, recirculation and homing, hematopoiesis, and tumor metastasis. CD44 and CD49d are putative activity markers and CD44 a potential novel therapeutic target in multiple sclerosis. Increased CD44 antigen is associated with relapses in non-small cell lung cancers. |
