The CD42A Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers studying CD42A, a cell surface glycoprotein involved in platelet adhesion and activation. This polyclonal antibody is raised in rabbits and has been validated for use in Western blot applications, detecting the CD42A protein in human samples with high specificity.CD42A, also known as glycoprotein Ib alpha, plays a crucial role in platelet function and is essential for normal hemostasis. Dysregulation of CD42A has been implicated in various platelet disorders, making it a promising target for research into thrombotic and bleeding disorders.
This antibody enables researchers to detect and analyze CD42A in different cell types, providing insights into its role in platelet biology and potential therapeutic interventions. Overall, the CD42A Polyclonal Antibody offers a reliable tool for investigating the function of CD42A in platelet physiology and pathophysiology, making it an essential component of studies related to hemostasis, thrombosis, and platelet-related disorders.

This gene encodes a small membrane glycoprotein found on the surface of human platelets. It forms a 1-to-1 noncovalent complex with glycoprotein Ib, a platelet surface membrane glycoprotein complex that functions as a receptor for von Willebrand factor. The complete receptor complex includes noncovalent association of the alpha and beta subunits with the protein encoded by this gene and platelet glycoprotein V. Defects in this gene are a cause of Bernard-Soulier syndrome, also known as giant platelet disease. These patients have unusually large platelets and have a clinical bleeding tendency.
