The CD4 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB0363) is a vital tool for research involving the CD4 cell surface molecule, which plays a crucial role in T-cell immune response. This antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the CD4 protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an essential tool for studies in immunology, infectious diseases, and HIV/AIDS research.CD4, also known as T4 antigen, is a co-receptor for the T-cell receptor and is primarily expressed on helper T cells. Its interaction with major histocompatibility complex class II molecules is essential for antigen recognition and T-cell activation, making it a key player in adaptive immunity.
Understanding the function and regulation of CD4 is essential for unraveling the complexities of the immune system and developing targeted therapies for various infectious diseases and immunological disorders. In summary, the CD4 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB0363) is a high-quality tool for researchers studying the CD4 molecule and its role in immune response regulation. Its specificity, sensitivity, and versatility make it a valuable asset in advancing our understanding of T-cell biology and developing innovative treatments for a wide range of immune-related disorders.

This gene encodes the CD4 membrane glycoprotein of T lymphocytes. The CD4 antigen acts as a coreceptor with the T-cell receptor on the T lymphocyte to recognize antigens displayed by an antigen presenting cell in the context of class II MHC molecules. The CD4 antigen is also a primary receptor for entry of the human immunodeficiency virus through interactions with the HIV Env gp120 subunit. This gene is expressed not only in T lymphocytes, but also in B cells, macrophages, granulocytes, as well as in various regions of the brain. The protein functions to initiate or augment the early phase of T-cell activation, and may function as an important mediator of indirect neuronal damage in infectious and immune-mediated diseases of the central nervous system. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified in this gene.
