Description
CD21 Monoclonal Antibody [hCD21] (CPAB0318)
The CD21 Polyclonal Antibody (CPAB0318) is a valuable tool for researchers studying CD21, a cell surface protein involved in immune system function. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits strong reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the CD21 protein, this antibody enables the detection and analysis of CD21 expression in various cell types, making it particularly useful for studies in immunology and cancer research.CD21, also known as complement receptor 2 (CR2), plays a crucial role in the activation of B cells and the regulation of immune responses. Its involvement in immune signaling pathways makes it an attractive target for investigating diseases such as autoimmune disorders, infections, and cancer.
By studying the function of CD21, researchers can gain insights into the mechanisms underlying these conditions and potentially develop new therapeutic strategies to modulate immune responses.Overall, the CD21 Polyclonal Antibody (CPAB0318) is a valuable resource for researchers looking to explore the role of CD21 in immune system regulation and disease pathogenesis. Its high reactivity and specificity make it a reliable tool for investigating the functions and interactions of CD21 in various biological contexts.

Background: | CD21 is expressed strongly on mature B cells, follicular dentritic cells and weakly on immature thymocytes and T lymphocytes. In B-cell ontogeny, CD21 appears after the pre-B-stage, is maintained during peripheral B-cell development and is lost upon terminal differentiation into plasma cells. CD21 expression is also gradually lost after stimulation of B cells in vitro. CD21 functions as receptor for C3d, C3dg and iC3b Complement components, for EBV and for IFNalpha. CD21 binds to CD23 and associates with CD19, CD81 and Leu13 to form a large signal-transduction complex involved in B cell activation. |
