The CD1b Polyclonal Antibody (CAB6551) is a valuable tool for researchers studying CD1b, a cell surface protein involved in antigen presentation to T cells. This rabbit-derived antibody is highly specific to human samples and is validated for use in various applications, including Western blot. By targeting the CD1b protein, this antibody enables the detection and analysis of CD1b expression in different cell types, making it a versatile tool for immunology and infectious disease research.CD1b is a member of the CD1 family of proteins, which play a crucial role in presenting lipid antigens to T cells, thereby initiating immune responses.
Understanding the function of CD1b is essential for unraveling the mechanisms of immune recognition and response, particularly in the context of infectious diseases and autoimmune disorders. The CD1b Polyclonal Antibody offers researchers a reliable means to study and manipulate CD1b expression, paving the way for new insights into immune regulation and potential therapeutic strategies.

This gene encodes a member of the CD1 family of transmembrane glycoproteins, which are structurally related to the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) proteins and form heterodimers with beta-2-microglobulin. The CD1 proteins mediate the presentation of primarily lipid and glycolipid antigens of self or microbial origin to T cells. The human genome contains five CD1 family genes organized in a cluster on chromosome 1. The CD1 family members are thought to differ in their cellular localization and specificity for particular lipid ligands. The protein encoded by this gene localizes to late endosomes and lysosomes via a tyrosine-based motif in the cytoplasmic tail, and requires vesicular acidification to bind lipid antigens.
