The CD163 Monoclonal Antibody is a vital tool for researchers studying CD163, a cell surface marker associated with anti-inflammatory and immunoregulatory functions. This antibody, produced through monoclonal antibody technology, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity for detecting CD163 in various biological samples, particularly in human tissues.CD163 is a scavenger receptor that plays a crucial role in the clearance of hemoglobin-haptoglobin complexes, thereby reducing oxidative stress and inflammation. Its expression on macrophages and monocytes makes it a key player in regulating immune responses and resolving inflammation. The CD163 Monoclonal Antibody is optimized for use in immunohistochemistry and flow cytometry applications, enabling researchers to visualize and quantify CD163 expression in different cell populations.
Research focused on CD163 has implications for understanding diseases characterized by dysregulated inflammation, such as sepsis, autoimmune disorders, and cardiovascular diseases. By targeting CD163, researchers can potentially develop novel therapeutic strategies for modulating immune responses and promoting tissue repair. The CD163 Monoclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for advancing our knowledge of CD163 biology and its therapeutic potential in various disease settings.

Human
Immunogen:
A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 861-961 of human CD163 (NP_004235.4).
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the scavenger receptor cysteine-rich (SRCR) superfamily, and is exclusively expressed in monocytes and macrophages. It functions as an acute phase-regulated receptor involved in the clearance and endocytosis of hemoglobin/haptoglobin complexes by macrophages, and may thereby protect tissues from free hemoglobin-mediated oxidative damage. This protein may also function as an innate immune sensor for bacteria and inducer of local inflammation. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene.
