Description
CD14 PAT87H7AT Monoclonal Antibody [PAT87H7AT] (CPAB0343)
The CD14 Monoclonal Antibody (CPAB0343) is a vital tool for researchers studying CD14, a key receptor involved in the recognition of bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and the activation of immune responses. This antibody is produced from hybridomas and specifically targets human CD14, with validated use in various immunological assays such as Western blotting.CD14 is crucial for the innate immune response, specifically in the detection of pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) and the initiation of inflammatory signaling pathways.
By targeting CD14, researchers can investigate the role of this receptor in host defense, sepsis, and other infectious diseases. The antibody's high specificity and sensitivity make it an ideal tool for studying the function and regulation of CD14 in both basic and clinical research settings.

Background: | CD14 (also known lipopolysaccharide (LPS) receptor) is expressed strongly on monocytes and macrophage and weakly on the surface of neutrophils. CD14 is anchored to cells by linkage to glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) and functions as a high affinity receptor for complexes of LPS and LPS binding protein (LBP). Soluble CD14, also binding to LPS, acts at physiological concentration as an LPS agonist and has, at higher concentrations, an LPS antagonizing effect in cell activation. CD14 has been shown to bind apoptotic cells. |
