Description
CD14 Monoclonal Antibody [hCD14] (CPAB0315)
The CD14 Polyclonal Antibody (CPAB0315) is a valuable tool for researchers studying CD14, a key marker of monocytes and macrophages involved in immune response and inflammation. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in various applications such as Western blot and immunohistochemistry.CD14 is a crucial component of the innate immune system, recognizing bacterial components and initiating inflammatory responses. It is commonly used as a biomarker for infectious and inflammatory diseases. The CD14 Polyclonal Antibody binds specifically to CD14, allowing for accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types and tissues.
With its ability to target CD14, this antibody is essential for investigations in immunology, infectious diseases, and inflammatory conditions. Understanding the role of CD14 and its involvement in immune responses can lead to insights into disease mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets. The CD14 Polyclonal Antibody is a reliable tool for researchers seeking to delve deeper into the complexities of the immune system and its role in health and disease.

Background: | CD14 (also known lipopolysaccharide (LPS) receptor) is expressed strongly on monocytes and macrophage and weakly on the surface of neutrophils. CD14 is anchored to cells by linkage to glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) and functions as a high affinity receptor for complexes of LPS and LPS binding protein (LBP). Soluble CD14, also binding to LPS, acts at physiological concentration as an LPS agonist and has, at higher concentrations, an LPS antagonizing effect in cell activation. CD14 has been shown to bind apoptotic cells. |
