Description
CD14 Monoclonal Antibody, Biotin [hCD4] (CPAB0316)
The CD14 Antibody (Biotin) (CPAB0316) is a valuable tool for research involving the CD14 molecule, which is a cell surface receptor that plays a key role in the recognition of bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and activation of innate immunity. This polyclonal antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly specific for human CD14 and is validated for use in various applications, including Western blot and immunohistochemistry.CD14 is a crucial component of the innate immune system, mediating the response to microbial pathogens and promoting the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. Its role in the activation of immune signaling pathways makes it a target of interest for studies in infectious diseases, inflammation, and immune system dysregulation.
By detecting and analyzing CD14 expression in different cell types and tissues, researchers can gain insights into the mechanisms of immune response and develop targeted therapies for immune-related disorders. The CD14 Antibody (Biotin) is an essential tool for researchers studying immune responses, infectious diseases, and inflammation, providing valuable data for understanding the molecular pathways involved in immune recognition and activation. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it a reliable choice for immunology research and drug development efforts aimed at modulating the immune system for therapeutic purposes.

Background: | CD14 (also known lipopolysaccharide (LPS) receptor) is expressed strongly on monocytes and macrophage and weakly on the surface of neutrophils. CD14 is anchored to cells by linkage to glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) and functions as a high affinity receptor for complexes of LPS and LPS binding protein (LBP). Soluble CD14, also binding to LPS, acts at physiological concentration as an LPS agonist and has, at higher concentrations, an LPS antagonizing effect in cell activation. CD14 has been shown to bind apoptotic cells. |
