The CCL5 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB5630) is a powerful tool for researchers studying CCL5, a chemokine also known as RANTES. This antibody is raised in rabbits and is highly specific for detecting CCL5 in human samples. Validated for use in Western blot applications, this antibody binds to the CCL5 protein, allowing for accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types. CCL5 is a key player in the immune response, functioning as a chemoattractant for various immune cells and playing a role in inflammation and immune cell activation.
By studying the expression and function of CCL5, researchers can gain valuable insights into the mechanisms underlying inflammatory diseases, such as autoimmune disorders, chronic inflammatory conditions, and cancer. With its high reactivity and specificity, the CCL5 Polyclonal Antibody is an essential tool for investigating the role of CCL5 in various biological processes and diseases. Researchers interested in immunology, inflammation, and cancer research will find this antibody invaluable for their studies.

This gene is one of several chemokine genes clustered on the q-arm of chromosome 17. Chemokines form a superfamily of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The superfamily is divided into four subfamilies based on the arrangement of the N-terminal cysteine residues of the mature peptide. This chemokine, a member of the CC subfamily, functions as a chemoattractant for blood monocytes, memory T helper cells and eosinophils. It causes the release of histamine from basophils and activates eosinophils. This cytokine is one of the major HIV-suppressive factors produced by CD8+ cells. It functions as one of the natural ligands for the chemokine receptor chemokine (C-C motif) receptor 5 (CCR5), and it suppresses in vitro replication of the R5 strains of HIV-1, which use CCR5 as a coreceptor. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants that encode different isoforms.
