The CCL16 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB15317) is a powerful tool for researchers studying the chemokine CCL16, a key player in immune response and inflammation. This antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the CCL16 protein, this antibody allows for accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it a valuable asset for studies in immunology, inflammation, and related fields.CCL16, also known as liver-expressed chemokine (LEC) or lymphotactin, is involved in the recruitment and activation of immune cells, particularly in allergic reactions and inflammatory diseases.
Its role in modulating immune responses makes it a promising target for research into conditions like asthma, allergies, and autoimmune disorders. Understanding the function of CCL16 is essential for developing effective therapies that target the immune system in these contexts, making this antibody a valuable resource for researchers in immunology and inflammation.

This gene is one of several cytokine genes clustered on the q-arm of chromosome 17. Cytokines are a family of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The CC cytokines are proteins characterized by two adjacent cysteines. The cytokine encoded by this gene displays chemotactic activity for lymphocytes and monocytes but not for neutrophils. This cytokine also shows a potent myelosuppressive activity and suppresses proliferation of myeloid progenitor cells. The expression of this gene is upregulated by IL-10.
