The CBX5 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB12592) is specifically designed for research involving CBX5, a key player in epigenetic regulation and chromatin remodeling processes. This antibody, raised in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. It targets the CBX5 protein, enabling precise detection and analysis in a wide range of cell types, making it ideal for studies in epigenetics, gene regulation, and cancer biology.CBX5, also known as Chromobox protein homolog 5, functions as a component of the Polycomb repressive complex 1 (PRC1) and plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression and chromatin structure.
Its involvement in epigenetic processes makes it a valuable target for research into various diseases, including cancer and developmental disorders. Understanding the functions of CBX5 is essential for developing targeted therapies that manipulate epigenetic mechanisms for therapeutic purposes.Overall, the CBX5 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB12592) offers researchers a reliable tool for investigating the biological functions of CBX5 and its implications in various disease states, paving the way for new insights and potential therapeutic strategies.

This gene encodes a highly conserved nonhistone protein, which is a member of the heterochromatin protein family. The protein is enriched in the heterochromatin and associated with centromeres. The protein has a single N-terminal chromodomain which can bind to histone proteins via methylated lysine residues, and a C-terminal chromo shadow-domain (CSD) which is responsible for the homodimerization and interaction with a number of chromatin-associated nonhistone proteins. The encoded product is involved in the formation of functional kinetochore through interaction with essential kinetochore proteins. The gene has a pseudogene located on chromosome 3. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been identified.
