The CBS Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody is a highly specific tool for researchers studying CBS, a key enzyme involved in the production of hydrogen sulfide, a gasotransmitter with important roles in cellular metabolism and signaling. This antibody, generated in rabbits, has been rigorously validated for use in multiple applications, including immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and ELISA.CBS is a crucial enzyme in the trans-sulfuration pathway, converting homocysteine to cysteine and regulating the levels of hydrogen sulfide in the body. Dysregulation of CBS activity has been implicated in various diseases, including cardiovascular disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, and cancer.
The CBS Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody allows for precise detection and quantification of CBS protein levels in different tissues and cell types, enabling researchers to investigate the role of CBS in health and disease.By using the CBS Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody, researchers can gain valuable insights into the function of CBS and its implications in various physiological and pathological processes. This antibody is a valuable tool for advancing our understanding of hydrogen sulfide biology and identifying potential therapeutic targets for a range of diseases.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 400-551 of human CBS (P35520).
The protein encoded by this gene acts as a homotetramer to catalyze the conversion of homocysteine to cystathionine, the first step in the transsulfuration pathway. The encoded protein is allosterically activated by adenosyl-methionine and uses pyridoxal phosphate as a cofactor. Defects in this gene can cause cystathionine beta-synthase deficiency (CBSD), which can lead to homocystinuria. This gene is a major contributor to cellular hydrogen sulfide production. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene.
