The Catalase Polyclonal Antibody is a powerful tool for researchers studying the enzyme catalase, which plays a crucial role in protecting cells from oxidative damage by breaking down hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen. This antibody is raised in rabbits and has been validated for use in Western blot applications, allowing for the detection and analysis of catalase protein levels in various samples.Catalase is an essential antioxidant enzyme that helps maintain cellular health and function by preventing the accumulation of harmful reactive oxygen species. Dysregulation of catalase activity has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, diabetes, and neurodegenerative disorders.
By studying catalase expression and activity using this antibody, researchers can gain valuable insights into the mechanisms underlying oxidative stress-related pathologies and potential therapeutic strategies. This Catalase Polyclonal Antibody is highly specific for the catalase protein and is suitable for use in immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and other research applications. Its versatility and reliability make it an indispensable tool for investigators exploring the role of catalase in health and disease.

This gene encodes catalase, a key antioxidant enzyme in the bodies defense against oxidative stress. Catalase is a heme enzyme that is present in the peroxisome of nearly all aerobic cells. Catalase converts the reactive oxygen species hydrogen peroxide to water and oxygen and thereby mitigates the toxic effects of hydrogen peroxide. Oxidative stress is hypothesized to play a role in the development of many chronic or late-onset diseases such as diabetes, asthma, Alzheimer's disease, systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, and cancers. Polymorphisms in this gene have been associated with decreases in catalase activity but, to date, acatalasemia is the only disease known to be caused by this gene.
