The Caspase-14 Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (CAB9618) is an essential tool for researchers studying the role of Caspase-14 in various cellular processes. Caspase-14 is a cysteine protease involved in epidermal differentiation and barrier formation in the skin. This antibody, developed using rabbits as hosts, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity towards human samples, making it a reliable tool for Western blot applications. With its ability to bind specifically to the Caspase-14 protein, this antibody allows for precise detection and analysis of Caspase-14 levels in different cell types.
Its utility in immunology and cancer research makes it a valuable asset for investigating the mechanisms underlying skin barrier function and potential therapeutic interventions. The role of Caspase-14 in skin physiology and pathology, including conditions like psoriasis and atopic dermatitis, underscores the importance of studying its function. By using this antibody to study Caspase-14, researchers can gain insight into the molecular pathways regulating epidermal homeostasis and potentially identify novel therapeutic targets for skin-related disorders.

This gene encodes a member of the cysteine-aspartic acid protease (caspase) family. Sequential activation of caspases plays a central role in the execution-phase of cell apoptosis. Caspases exist as inactive proenzymes which undergo proteolytic processing at conserved aspartic residues to produce two subunits, large and small, that dimerize to form the active enzyme. This caspase has been shown to be processed and activated by caspase 8 and caspase 10 in vitro, and by anti-Fas agonist antibody or TNF-related apoptosis inducing ligand in vivo. The expression and processing of this caspase may be involved in keratinocyte terminal differentiation, which is important for the formation of the skin barrier.
