The Caspase-14 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB6541) is a crucial tool for researchers studying Caspase-14, a key protein involved in apoptosis and skin barrier function. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human Caspase-14 samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to Caspase-14, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an excellent choice for investigations in dermatology, cell biology, and cancer research.Caspase-14, a member of the caspase family of proteases, plays a vital role in skin development and maintenance by participating in keratinocyte differentiation and cornification.
Dysregulation of Caspase-14 activity has been implicated in skin disorders, making it a promising target for therapeutic interventions in conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, and atopic dermatitis. Understanding the functions and mechanisms of Caspase-14 can provide valuable insights into skin biology and potentially lead to the development of novel treatments for skin-related diseases.

This gene encodes a member of the cysteine-aspartic acid protease (caspase) family. Sequential activation of caspases plays a central role in the execution-phase of cell apoptosis. Caspases exist as inactive proenzymes which undergo proteolytic processing at conserved aspartic residues to produce two subunits, large and small, that dimerize to form the active enzyme. This caspase has been shown to be processed and activated by caspase 8 and caspase 10 in vitro, and by anti-Fas agonist antibody or TNF-related apoptosis inducing ligand in vivo. The expression and processing of this caspase may be involved in keratinocyte terminal differentiation, which is important for the formation of the skin barrier.
