The Casp12 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB0217) is a valuable tool for researchers studying caspase-12, an enzyme involved in the regulation of inflammatory responses and apoptosis. This antibody, produced in rabbits, has high specificity for human caspase-12 and has been validated for use in Western blot applications.Caspase-12 is a key player in the innate immune response, serving as a mediator of inflammation and cell death pathways. Dysregulation of caspase-12 has been implicated in various diseases, including neurodegenerative disorders and sepsis.
By targeting caspase-12 with this antibody, researchers can gain insights into its role in these pathological processes and potentially identify new therapeutic strategies for treating related conditions.Overall, the Casp12 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB0217) is a crucial tool for investigating the functions of caspase-12 in health and disease, with the potential to advance our understanding of immune regulation and cell survival mechanisms.

Caspases are cysteine proteases that cleave C-terminal aspartic acid residues on their substrate molecules. This gene is most highly related to members of the ICE subfamily of caspases that process inflammatory cytokines. In rodents, the homolog of this gene mediates apoptosis in response to endoplasmic reticulum stress. However, in humans this gene contains a polymorphism for the presence or absence of a premature stop codon. The majority of human individuals have the premature stop codon and produce a truncated non-functional protein. The read-through codon occurs primarily in individuals of African descent and carriers have endotoxin hypo-responsiveness and an increased susceptibility to severe sepsis. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants have been noted for this gene.
