The CAPN2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1861) is a valuable tool for researchers studying CAPN2, a calcium-activated protein implicated in various cellular processes, including cell cycle progression, apoptosis, and signal transduction. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific for detecting CAPN2 in human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications.By targeting the CAPN2 protein, this antibody enables researchers to investigate the role of CAPN2 in different cell types and physiological conditions. With its high specificity and sensitivity, it is an excellent choice for studies in cell biology, cancer research, and neurodegenerative diseases where CAPN2 dysregulation has been implicated.
Understanding the function of CAPN2 is essential for uncovering its involvement in disease processes and identifying potential therapeutic targets. The CAPN2 Polyclonal Antibody provides researchers with a reliable tool to further explore the mechanisms underlying CAPN2-mediated cellular functions and its potential as a biomarker for disease diagnosis and treatment.
The calpains, calcium-activated neutral proteases, are nonlysosomal, intracellular cysteine proteases. The mammalian calpains include ubiquitous, stomach-specific, and muscle-specific proteins. The ubiquitous enzymes consist of heterodimers with distinct large, catalytic subunits associated with a common small, regulatory subunit. This gene encodes the large subunit of the ubiquitous enzyme, calpain 2. Multiple heterogeneous transcriptional start sites in the 5' UTR have been reported. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
