The CAMKK2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB9899) is a crucial tool for researchers studying CAMKK2, a key regulator of cellular signaling pathways involved in various cellular processes. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity towards CAMKK2 in human samples, making it suitable for use in Western blotting applications. By binding to the CAMKK2 protein, researchers can accurately detect and analyze its expression in different cell types, facilitating investigations in the fields of cell biology and cancer research.
CAMKK2, a member of the calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase family, plays a pivotal role in mediating important cellular functions such as cell growth, metabolism, and gene expression. Dysregulation of CAMKK2 is associated with various diseases including cancer, diabetes, and neurodegenerative disorders, highlighting its clinical relevance as a potential therapeutic target. By elucidating the molecular mechanisms controlled by CAMKK2, researchers can potentially develop novel treatments for these debilitating conditions.

The product of this gene belongs to the Serine/Threonine protein kinase family, and to the Ca(2+)/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase subfamily. The major isoform of this gene plays a role in the calcium/calmodulin-dependent (CaM) kinase cascade by phosphorylating the downstream kinases CaMK1 and CaMK4. Protein products of this gene also phosphorylate AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). This gene has its strongest expression in the brain and influences signalling cascades involved with learning and memory, neuronal differentiation and migration, neurite outgrowth, and synapse formation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms. The identified isoforms differ in their ability to undergo autophosphorylation and to phosphorylate downstream kinases.
