Description
CAMK2A/CAMK2B/CAMK2D Antibody (PACO05422)
The CAMK2A/CAMK2B/CAMK2D Antibody (PACO05422) is a polyclonal antibody designed for research involving CAMK2A, CAMK2B, and CAMK2D proteins, which are members of the calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase family. These proteins play important roles in calcium signaling pathways and are involved in various cellular processes such as neuronal excitability, synaptic plasticity, and muscle contraction.Raised in rabbits, this antibody is highly reactive with samples from various species, including humans, and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding specifically to CAMK2A, CAMK2B, and CAMK2D proteins, this antibody enables researchers to detect and analyze these proteins in different cell types, making it an ideal tool for studies in neuroscience, cell biology, and drug development.
The CAMK2A/CAMK2B/CAMK2D Antibody (PACO05422) is essential for understanding the functions and regulation of CAMK2 proteins in various physiological and pathophysiological processes. These proteins have been implicated in conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, cardiac hypertrophy, and cancer, making them attractive targets for therapeutic interventions. By studying the roles of CAMK2A, CAMK2B, and CAMK2D, researchers can gain valuable insights that may lead to the development of novel treatments for these diseases.

UniProt Protein Function: | CAMK2A: a protein kinase of the CAMK2 family. A prominent kinase in the central nervous system that may function in long-term potentiation and neurotransmitter release. Member of the NMDAR signaling complex in excitatory synapses that may regulate NMDAR-dependent potentiation of the AMPAR and synaptic plasticity. The holoenzyme is composed of four different chains: alpha, beta, gamma, and delta. The different chains assemble into homo- or heteromultimeric holoenzymes composed of 8 to 12 subunits. May interact with BAALC, MPDZ, SYN1 and synGAP. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. |

NCBI Summary: | The product of this gene belongs to the serine/threonine protein kinases family, and to the Ca(2+)/calmodulin-dependent protein kinases subfamily. Calcium signaling is crucial for several aspects of plasticity at glutamatergic synapses. This calcium calmodulin-dependent protein kinase is composed of four different chains: alpha, beta, gamma, and delta. The alpha chain encoded by this gene is required for hippocampal long-term potentiation (LTP) and spatial learning. In addition to its calcium-calmodulin (CaM)-dependent activity, this protein can undergo autophosphorylation, resulting in CaM-independent activity. Two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2008] |
