Description
CALB2 Monoclonal Antibody [PAT5C5AT] (CPAB0660)
The CALB2 Polyclonal Antibody (CPAB0660) is a valuable tool for researchers studying CALB2, a calcium-binding protein that plays a key role in various biological processes. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high specificity for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By targeting the CALB2 protein, this antibody enables the detection and analysis of CALB2 in different cell types, making it a versatile option for investigations in neurobiology, neuroscience, and cancer research.CALB2, also known as calretinin, is involved in calcium signaling and is commonly used as a marker for specific cell types in the nervous system.
Its functions extend to neuronal development, synaptic transmission, and neuroprotection, indicating its importance in the maintenance of brain health and function. With its potential implications in neurodegenerative diseases and cancer, CALB2 is a promising target for further exploration in the realm of therapeutic development.Overall, the CALB2 Polyclonal Antibody offers researchers a reliable tool for studying the role of CALB2 in various physiological and pathological conditions, contributing to a greater understanding of its impact on human health and disease.

Background: | Calretinin is an intracellular calcium-binding protein belonging to the troponin C superfamily characterized by a structural motif described as the EF-hand domain. The immunohistochemical detection of calretinin in developing cerebellum is restricted to the later stages indicated by weak staining from week 21 of gestation, in Purkinje and basket cells and in neurons of the dentate nucleus. The intensity of staining increases as the cerebellum matures. In tumors, calretinin has been detected in mesotheliomas and some pulmonary adenocarcinomas. |
