The Calbindin D28k Polyclonal Antibody (CAB15035) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the role of Calbindin D28k, a calcium-binding protein involved in various cellular processes. This antibody is raised in rabbits and is highly specific for human samples, making it ideal for use in immunohistochemistry and other research applications.Calbindin D28k is known for its role in calcium homeostasis and has been implicated in neurological disorders, such as Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease. By targeting the Calbindin D28k protein, researchers can investigate its expression levels and localization in different cell types, providing insights into its functions in normal and disease states.
With its high reactivity and specificity, the Calbindin D28k Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for studies in neuroscience, cell biology, and pathology. Its use can lead to a better understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases and potentially identify new therapeutic targets for treating these conditions.
Product Name:
Calbindin Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
SKU:
CAB15035
Size:
20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit

Mouse,Rat
Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-261 of human Calbindin (NP_004920.1).
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the calcium-binding protein superfamily that includes calmodulin and troponin C. Originally described as a 27 kDa protein, it is now known to be a 28 kDa protein. It contains four active calcium-binding domains, and has two modified domains that are thought to have lost their calcium binding capability. This protein is thought to buffer entry of calcium upon stimulation of glutamate receptors. Depletion of this protein was noted in patients with Huntington disease.
