The CALB1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB0802) is a valuable tool for researchers investigating CALB1, a calcium-binding protein with important roles in neuronal function and signal transduction. This antibody, produced in rabbits, has high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the CALB1 protein, this antibody enables the detection and analysis of CALB1 in a variety of cell types, making it an ideal choice for studies in neuroscience, neurodegenerative diseases, and calcium signaling pathways.
CALB1 is a key player in calcium homeostasis and neuronal development, with implications in neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and epilepsy. Understanding the function and regulation of CALB1 is essential for deciphering its role in these conditions and developing potential therapeutic strategies. The CALB1 Polyclonal Antibody provides researchers with a reliable tool for investigating the complex mechanisms involving CALB1, paving the way for advancements in neuroscience research.
Product Name:
Calbindin Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
SKU:
CAB0802
Size:
20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit
Reactivity:
Human,Mouse,Rat
Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-261 of human Calbindin (NP_004920.1).
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the calcium-binding protein superfamily that includes calmodulin and troponin C. Originally described as a 27 kDa protein, it is now known to be a 28 kDa protein. It contains four active calcium-binding domains, and has two modified domains that are thought to have lost their calcium binding capability. This protein is thought to buffer entry of calcium upon stimulation of glutamate receptors. Depletion of this protein was noted in patients with Huntington disease.
