The CACNA1D Polyclonal Antibody (CAB16785) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the CACNA1D protein, which is involved in calcium channel regulation and plays a crucial role in various physiological processes. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high specificity for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the CACNA1D protein, this antibody enables the detection and analysis of CACNA1D expression in a variety of cell types, making it ideal for studies in neuroscience, cardiovascular research, and beyond.CACNA1D, also known as the voltage-gated calcium channel Cav1.
3, is a key player in controlling calcium influx into cells, which is essential for functions such as muscle contraction, neurotransmitter release, and gene expression regulation. Dysregulation of CACNA1D has been implicated in conditions such as cardiac arrhythmias, neuronal diseases, and hypertension, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic target. By delving into the mechanisms of CACNA1D activity, researchers can gain valuable insights into these disease processes and potentially uncover new treatment strategies.

Voltage-dependent calcium channels mediate the entry of calcium ions into excitable cells, and are also involved in a variety of calcium-dependent processes, including muscle contraction, hormone or neurotransmitter release, and gene expression. Calcium channels are multisubunit complexes composed of alpha-1, beta, alpha-2/delta, and gamma subunits. The channel activity is directed by the pore-forming alpha-1 subunit, whereas the others act as auxiliary subunits regulating this activity. The distinctive properties of the calcium channel types are related primarily to the expression of a variety of alpha-1 isoforms, namely alpha-1A, B, C, D, E, and S. This gene encodes the alpha-1D subunit. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
