The CACNA1B Polyclonal Antibody (CAB16687) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the CACNA1B protein, which is a voltage-gated calcium channel subunit involved in neurotransmission. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the CACNA1B protein, researchers can easily detect and analyze its expression in various cell types, making it an essential component for studies in neuroscience and neurology. The CACNA1B protein is crucial for regulating calcium ion influx in neurons, playing a vital role in synaptic transmission and neuronal excitability.
Dysregulation of CACNA1B has been associated with neurological disorders such as epilepsy, ataxia, and migraine, making it a promising target for therapeutic interventions. By gaining a better understanding of the function and regulation of CACNA1B, researchers can uncover new insights into the mechanisms underlying these disorders and potentially develop novel treatment strategies.
Product Name:
CACNA1B Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

CAB16687
Size:
20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit

Human
Immunogen:
A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 2200 to the C-terminus of human CACNA1B (NP_000709.1).
The protein encoded by this gene is the pore-forming subunit of an N-type voltage-dependent calcium channel, which controls neurotransmitter release from neurons. The encoded protein forms a complex with alpha-2, beta, and delta subunits to form the high-voltage activated channel. This channel is sensitive to omega-conotoxin-GVIA and omega-agatoxin-IIIA but insensitive to dihydropyridines. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
