Description
Carbonic Anhydrase 9 (CA9/G250) Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1658)
The CA9 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1658) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the role of Carbonic Anhydrase IX (CA9) in cancer and other physiological processes. This rabbit-derived antibody has high specificity for CA9 in human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the CA9 protein, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of CA9 expression in various cell types.CA9 is a transmembrane enzyme that plays a critical role in regulating pH in tumor microenvironments, making it an attractive target for cancer research. High levels of CA9 expression have been associated with poor prognosis in several types of cancer, making it a potential biomarker for disease progression.
Additionally, CA9 has been implicated in tumor angiogenesis and resistance to certain cancer therapies, highlighting its importance in understanding tumor biology.Overall, the CA9 Polyclonal Antibody is an essential tool for researchers investigating the role of CA9 in cancer biology and developing novel therapeutic strategies targeting this enzyme. Its high reactivity and specificity make it a reliable option for studying CA9 expression and function in various research settings.

Carbonic anhydrases (CAs) are a large family of zinc metalloenzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. They participate in a variety of biological processes, including respiration, calcification, acid-base balance, bone resorption, and the formation of aqueous humor, cerebrospinal fluid, saliva, and gastric acid. They show extensive diversity in tissue distribution and in their subcellular localization. CA IX is a transmembrane protein and is one of only two tumor-associated carbonic anhydrase isoenzymes known. It is expressed in all clear-cell renal cell carcinoma, but is not detected in normal kidney or most other normal tissues. It may be involved in cell proliferation and transformation. This gene was mapped to 17q21.2 by fluorescence in situ hybridization, however, radiation hybrid mapping localized it to 9p13-p12.
