The C4BPB Polyclonal Antibody (CAB6362) is a vital tool for researchers studying C4BPB, a key regulator of the complement system. This antibody, produced in rabbits, demonstrates high reactivity with human samples and is validated for Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the C4BPB protein, this antibody allows for accurate detection and analysis in various cell types, making it an ideal choice for research in immunology and inflammation.C4BPB, also known as complement component 4 binding protein beta, plays a crucial role in regulating the complement cascade, a part of the innate immune system responsible for recognizing and eliminating pathogens.
Dysregulation of the complement system is implicated in a variety of diseases, including autoimmune disorders, infectious diseases, and inflammatory conditions. Studying C4BPB using this antibody can provide valuable insights into the mechanisms underlying these diseases and identify potential therapeutic targets for intervention.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 17-251 of human C4BPB (NP_001017364.1).
This gene encodes a member of a superfamily of proteins composed predominantly of tandemly arrayed short consensus repeats of approximately 60 amino acids. A single, unique beta-chain encoded by this gene assembles with seven identical alpha-chains into the predominant isoform of C4b-binding protein, a multimeric protein that controls activation of the complement cascade through the classical pathway. C4b-binding protein has a regulatory role in the coagulation system also, mediated through the beta-chain binding of protein S, a vitamin K-dependent protein that serves as a cofactor of activated protein C. The genes encoding both alpha and beta chains are located adjacent to each other on human chromosome 1 in the regulator of complement activation gene cluster. Alternative splicing gives rise to multiple transcript variants.
