The BPIFA1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB8634) is a valuable tool for studying BPIFA1, a protein involved in mucosal immunity and defense against respiratory infections. This antibody is produced in rabbits and exhibits high reactivity with human samples, making it suitable for Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the BPIFA1 protein, researchers can accurately detect and analyze its expression in various cell types, making it an excellent choice for studies in respiratory biology and infectious disease research.
BPIFA1, also known as BPI Fold-Containing Family A Member 1, is known for its role in maintaining lung homeostasis and protecting against bacterial and viral pathogens in the respiratory tract. Its involvement in mucosal immunity and defense mechanisms makes it a key target for investigations into respiratory diseases such as pneumonia, bronchitis, and asthma. Understanding the function of BPIFA1 is essential for developing new treatments and interventions to combat respiratory infections and improve lung health.

20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit
Reactivity:
Mouse,Rat
Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 20-256 of human BPIFA1 (NP_057667.1).
This gene is the human homolog of murine plunc, and like the mouse gene, is specifically expressed in the upper airways and nasopharyngeal regions. The encoded antimicrobial protein displays antibacterial activity against Gram-negative bacteria. It is thought to be involved in inflammatory responses to irritants in the upper airways and may also serve as a potential molecular marker for detection of micrometastasis in non-small-cell lung cancer. Multiple transcript variants resulting from alternative splicing in the 3' UTR have been detected, but the full-length nature of only three are known.
