The BIRC2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB0866) is a valuable tool for researchers studying cellular pathways involving BIRC2, a key protein involved in regulating cellular responses to apoptotic signals. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications.BIRC2, also known as Baculoviral IAP repeat-containing protein 2, is a member of the inhibitor of apoptosis (IAP) family of proteins that plays a crucial role in inhibiting programmed cell death. Dysregulation of BIRC2 has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, making it an important target for therapeutic intervention.
By targeting the BIRC2 protein, this polyclonal antibody enables researchers to detect and quantify levels of BIRC2 in different cell types, providing valuable insights into its functions and potential as a therapeutic target. Studies utilizing this antibody can shed light on the mechanisms underlying apoptosis and identify novel strategies for treating diseases characterized by aberrant cell death pathways.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 331-420 of human cIAP1 (NP_001157.1).
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of a family of proteins that inhibits apoptosis by binding to tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factors TRAF1 and TRAF2, probably by interfering with activation of ICE-like proteases. This encoded protein inhibits apoptosis induced by serum deprivation and menadione, a potent inducer of free radicals. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
