The BIN1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1792) is a valuable tool for researchers studying BIN1, a crucial protein involved in cellular processes such as endocytosis and membrane trafficking. This antibody, generated in rabbits, has high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding specifically to the BIN1 protein, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of BIN1 in various cell types, making it ideal for research in cell biology, neurology, and cancer.
BIN1, also known as Bridging Integrator 1, plays a key role in membrane dynamics and has been implicated in diseases such as Alzheimer's and cancer. Investigating the function and regulation of BIN1 is essential for understanding its role in these pathologies and developing targeted therapies. This antibody provides a reliable tool for researchers to explore the functions of BIN1 and its potential as a therapeutic target in various disease contexts.

This gene encodes several isoforms of a nucleocytoplasmic adaptor protein, one of which was initially identified as a MYC-interacting protein with features of a tumor suppressor. Isoforms that are expressed in the central nervous system may be involved in synaptic vesicle endocytosis and may interact with dynamin, synaptojanin, endophilin, and clathrin. Isoforms that are expressed in muscle and ubiquitously expressed isoforms localize to the cytoplasm and nucleus and activate a caspase-independent apoptotic process. Studies in mouse suggest that this gene plays an important role in cardiac muscle development. Alternate splicing of the gene results in several transcript variants encoding different isoforms. Aberrant splice variants expressed in tumor cell lines have also been described.
