The BDH1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB3763) is a powerful tool for researchers studying the BDH1 protein, which is involved in important metabolic processes. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the BDH1 protein, this antibody allows for precise detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an invaluable asset for research in the fields of metabolism, biochemistry, and molecular biology.BDH1, also known as 3-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase 1, plays a crucial role in the breakdown of fatty acids and ketone body metabolism.
Its involvement in these pathways makes it a key player in maintaining energy balance and homeostasis within the body. Dysregulation of BDH1 has been linked to metabolic disorders such as diabetes and obesity, making it a potential therapeutic target for the development of novel treatments.By understanding the function and regulation of BDH1, researchers can gain insights into metabolic pathways and potentially uncover new strategies for combating metabolic diseases. The BDH1 Polyclonal Antibody offers a reliable and efficient means of studying this important protein, paving the way for advancements in metabolic research.
Product Name:
BDH1 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

CAB3763
Size:
20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit

Human
Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-343 of human BDH1 (NP_004042.1).
This gene encodes a member of the short-chain dehydrogenase/reductase gene family. The encoded protein forms a homotetrameric lipid-requiring enzyme of the mitochondrial membrane and has a specific requirement for phosphatidylcholine for optimal enzymatic activity. The encoded protein catalyzes the interconversion of acetoacetate and (R)-3-hydroxybutyrate, the two major ketone bodies produced during fatty acid catabolism. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been described.
