The BAP1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB6533) is a valuable tool for researchers studying BAP1, a crucial protein involved in various cellular processes, including DNA repair and cell cycle regulation. This antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly specific for BAP1 in human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications.BAP1, also known as BRCA1-associated protein 1, is a tumor suppressor gene that plays a key role in regulating cell proliferation and preventing the formation of tumors. Mutations in the BAP1 gene have been linked to various cancers, including mesothelioma and uveal melanoma.
By using the BAP1 Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can detect and study the expression levels of BAP1 in different cell types and tissues, aiding in the investigation of its function in cancer development and progression.Overall, the BAP1 Polyclonal Antibody is a powerful tool for researchers interested in unraveling the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer and other diseases associated with BAP1 dysregulation. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it an ideal choice for immunology and cancer research studies.

This gene belongs to the ubiquitin C-terminal hydrolase subfamily of deubiquitinating enzymes that are involved in the removal of ubiquitin from proteins. The encoded enzyme binds to the breast cancer type 1 susceptibility protein (BRCA1) via the RING finger domain of the latter and acts as a tumor suppressor. In addition, the enzyme may be involved in regulation of transcription, regulation of cell cycle and growth, response to DNA damage and chromatin dynamics. Germline mutations in this gene may be associated with tumor predisposition syndrome (TPDS), which involves increased risk of cancers including malignant mesothelioma, uveal melanoma and cutaneous melanoma.
