The BAK1 Monoclonal Antibody (CAB10754) is a powerful tool for researchers studying BAK1, a key player in programmed cell death (apoptosis). This antibody, generated from mouse hybridoma cells, is highly specific to human BAK1 and is validated for use in various applications including Western blot and immunohistochemistry.BAK1, also known as Bcl-2 homologous antagonist killer, is a pro-apoptotic protein that helps to regulate the apoptotic process in cells. Dysregulation of BAK1 has been implicated in various diseases including cancer, making it a promising target for therapeutic interventions.
This antibody allows for the detection and analysis of BAK1 expression in different cell types, providing valuable insights into its role in apoptosis and potential implications for disease progression.Researchers in the fields of cell biology, oncology, and drug discovery will find this antibody essential for their studies on apoptosis and the molecular mechanisms underlying cell death. By investigating the function of BAK1, scientists can gain a better understanding of its involvement in disease pathogenesis and potentially identify novel strategies for therapeutic intervention.

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the BCL2 protein family. BCL2 family members form oligomers or heterodimers and act as anti- or pro-apoptotic regulators that are involved in a wide variety of cellular activities. This protein localizes to mitochondria, and functions to induce apoptosis. It interacts with and accelerates the opening of the mitochondrial voltage-dependent anion channel, which leads to a loss in membrane potential and the release of cytochrome c. This protein also interacts with the tumor suppressor P53 after exposure to cell stress.
