The BAK Polyclonal Antibody is a high-quality research tool designed for studying the BAK protein, a key regulator of apoptosis. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits strong reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to BAK protein, researchers can detect and analyze its expression in a variety of cell types, making it a valuable tool for studies in cell biology and cancer research.BAK, a pro-apoptotic BCL-2 family member, plays a critical role in the intrinsic pathway of apoptosis, a fundamental process of programmed cell death essential for maintaining tissue homeostasis and eliminating damaged cells.
Dysregulation of BAK activity has been linked to various diseases, including cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and autoimmune conditions. Investigating the function of BAK is crucial for understanding the mechanisms underlying these diseases and developing targeted therapies.Overall, the BAK Polyclonal Antibody offers researchers a reliable and sensitive tool for investigating the role of BAK in apoptotic pathways and its implications in disease pathology. Its versatility and specificity make it an essential reagent for labs conducting research in cell biology, molecular biology, and cancer biology.

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the BCL2 protein family. BCL2 family members form oligomers or heterodimers and act as anti- or pro-apoptotic regulators that are involved in a wide variety of cellular activities. This protein localizes to mitochondria, and functions to induce apoptosis. It interacts with and accelerates the opening of the mitochondrial voltage-dependent anion channel, which leads to a loss in membrane potential and the release of cytochrome c. This protein also interacts with the tumor suppressor P53 after exposure to cell stress.
