The BAD Polyclonal Antibody (CAB24658) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the BAD protein, a key regulator of apoptosis. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the BAD protein, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of BAD in various cell types, making it ideal for research in apoptosis, cancer, and other related fields.BAD, also known as Bcl-2-associated death promoter, plays a crucial role in the regulation of programmed cell death by promoting apoptosis.
Dysregulation of BAD has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and cardiovascular diseases. Understanding the function and regulation of BAD is essential for developing targeted therapies that modulate apoptosis for therapeutic benefit.Researchers can trust the BAD Polyclonal Antibody (CAB24658) for reliable and reproducible results in their studies of apoptosis and related pathways. Its specificity and sensitivity make it a valuable tool for advancing our understanding of the role of BAD in health and disease.

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the BCL-2 family. BCL-2 family members are known to be regulators of programmed cell death. This protein positively regulates cell apoptosis by forming heterodimers with BCL-xL (B-cell lymphoma-extra large) and BCL-2, and reversing their death repressor activity. Proapoptotic activity of this protein is regulated through its phosphorylation. Protein kinases AKT and MAP kinase, as well as protein phosphatase calcineurin were found to be involved in the regulation of this protein. Alternative splicing of this gene results in two transcript variants which encode the same isoform.
