The AXL Monoclonal Antibody (CAB22378) is a versatile tool for researchers studying the AXL receptor tyrosine kinase, a key player in various cellular processes such as cell growth, survival, and migration. This antibody, generated using a hybridoma fusion technique, is highly specific for detecting AXL protein in human samples and is validated for use in immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and flow cytometry applications.AXL is known to be overexpressed in many cancers and has been implicated in promoting tumor growth, metastasis, and drug resistance. By targeting AXL with this antibody, researchers can gain valuable insights into the role of AXL in cancer biology and potentially identify novel therapeutic strategies for treating AXL-driven malignancies.
In addition to its role in cancer, AXL has also been linked to immune evasion and inflammation, making it a promising target for immunotherapy research. With the AXL Monoclonal Antibody, scientists can investigate the intricate mechanisms by which AXL modulates immune responses and explore its potential as a target for immunomodulatory therapies in diseases such as autoimmune disorders and chronic inflammatory conditions.

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the Tyro3-Axl-Mer (TAM) receptor tyrosine kinase subfamily. The encoded protein possesses an extracellular domain which is composed of two immunoglobulin-like motifs at the N-terminal, followed by two fibronectin type-III motifs. It transduces signals from the extracellular matrix into the cytoplasm by binding to the vitamin K-dependent protein growth arrest-specific 6 (Gas6). This gene may be involved in several cellular functions including growth, migration, aggregation and anti-inflammation in multiple cell types. The encoded protein acts as a host cell receptor for multiple viruses, including Marburg, Ebola and Lassa viruses and is a candidate receptor for the SARS-CoV2 virus.
