The ATP5D Polyclonal Antibody (CAB9929) is a specialized research tool designed for the study of ATP5D, a key protein involved in cellular energy production in mitochondria. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been rigorously validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the ATP5D protein, researchers can accurately detect and analyze its expression in various biological samples, making it an essential tool for investigations in bioenergetics and mitochondrial function.ATP5D, a subunit of the F1F0-ATP synthase complex, plays a crucial role in ATP synthesis, the primary energy currency of cells.
Understanding the regulation and function of ATP5D is essential for unraveling the complex mechanisms of energy production and metabolism in health and disease. Research into ATP5D holds promise for uncovering new therapeutic targets in conditions related to mitochondrial dysfunction, such as neurodegenerative diseases and metabolic disorders. By studying ATP5D, researchers can gain valuable insights into cellular energetics and potentially develop novel strategies to modulate energy production pathways for therapeutic purposes.

This gene encodes a subunit of mitochondrial ATP synthase. Mitochondrial ATP synthase catalyzes ATP synthesis, utilizing an electrochemical gradient of protons across the inner membrane during oxidative phosphorylation. ATP synthase is composed of two linked multi-subunit complexes: the soluble catalytic core, F1, and the membrane-spanning component, Fo, comprising the proton channel. The catalytic portion of mitochondrial ATP synthase consists of 5 different subunits (alpha, beta, gamma, delta, and epsilon) assembled with a stoichiometry of 3 alpha, 3 beta, and a single representative of the other 3. The proton channel consists of three main subunits (a, b, c). This gene encodes the delta subunit of the catalytic core. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same isoform have been identified.
