The ATP5B Polyclonal Antibody (CAB5769) is a valuable tool for researchers studying ATP5B, a key subunit of the mitochondrial ATP synthase complex essential for cellular energy production. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high specificity for human samples and is validated for use in Western blotting applications. By binding to ATP5B, it allows for the accurate detection and analysis of this protein in a variety of cell types, making it ideal for investigations in bioenergetics, metabolism, and mitochondrial function.
ATP5B plays a crucial role in converting ADP to ATP, the primary energy currency of the cell, through oxidative phosphorylation in the mitochondria. Dysregulation of ATP5B has been implicated in various diseases, including metabolic disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, and cancer. Therefore, studying the expression and function of ATP5B using this antibody can provide insight into the underlying mechanisms of these pathologies and aid in the development of targeted therapies aimed at restoring normal cellular energetics.

This gene encodes a subunit of mitochondrial ATP synthase. Mitochondrial ATP synthase catalyzes ATP synthesis, utilizing an electrochemical gradient of protons across the inner membrane during oxidative phosphorylation. ATP synthase is composed of two linked multi-subunit complexes: the soluble catalytic core, F1, and the membrane-spanning component, Fo, comprising the proton channel. The catalytic portion of mitochondrial ATP synthase consists of 5 different subunits (alpha, beta, gamma, delta, and epsilon) assembled with a stoichiometry of 3 alpha, 3 beta, and a single representative of the other 3. The proton channel consists of three main subunits (a, b, c). This gene encodes the beta subunit of the catalytic core.
