The ATP4B Polyclonal Antibody (CAB10106) is a vital tool for researchers studying ATP4B, a key enzyme involved in the gastric phase of digestion. This antibody is raised in rabbits and is highly specific to human samples, making it suitable for a variety of research applications, including Western blotting. By binding to the ATP4B protein, this antibody enables the detection and analysis of ATP4B in different cell types, making it an essential component in studies related to digestion, gastric function, and gastrointestinal diseases.
ATP4B, also known as the gastric H+/K+-ATPase beta subunit, is crucial for maintaining the acidic environment of the stomach, which is necessary for proper digestion and nutrient absorption. Dysregulation of ATP4B has been linked to various gastrointestinal disorders, including gastritis, peptic ulcers, and acid reflux disease. By studying the role of ATP4B in these conditions, researchers can gain valuable insights into potential therapeutic targets for treating digestive disorders and improving gastric health.

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to a family of P-type cation-transporting ATPases. The gastric H+, K+-ATPase is a heterodimer consisting of a high molecular weight catalytic alpha subunit and a smaller but heavily glycosylated beta subunit. This enzyme is a proton pump that catalyzes the hydrolysis of ATP coupled with the exchange of H(+) and K(+) ions across the plasma membrane. It is also responsible for gastric acid secretion. This gene encodes the beta subunit of the gastric H+, K+-ATPase.
