The ATP2A1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB10104) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the ATP2A1 protein, which plays a critical role in cellular calcium ion transport. This antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the ATP2A1 protein, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of ATP2A1 expression in various cell types, making it ideal for research in cell biology and calcium signaling.ATP2A1, also known as SERCA1, is responsible for maintaining calcium homeostasis in the endoplasmic reticulum of cells, which is essential for various cellular functions including muscle contraction and neurotransmitter release.
Dysregulation of ATP2A1 has been linked to diseases such as muscle disorders and cardiac dysfunction, making it an important target for therapeutic interventions.By using the ATP2A1 Polyclonal Antibody in their research, scientists can gain valuable insights into the role of ATP2A1 in cellular function and disease pathology, ultimately leading to the development of novel treatment strategies.

Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 901-1001 of human SERCA1/SERCA1/ATP2A1 (NP_775293.1).
This gene encodes one of the SERCA Ca(2+)-ATPases, which are intracellular pumps located in the sarcoplasmic or endoplasmic reticula of muscle cells. This enzyme catalyzes the hydrolysis of ATP coupled with the translocation of calcium from the cytosol to the sarcoplasmic reticulum lumen, and is involved in muscular excitation and contraction. Mutations in this gene cause some autosomal recessive forms of Brody disease, characterized by increasing impairment of muscular relaxation during exercise. Alternative splicing results in three transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
