The ATP1B2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB9928) is a valuable tool for researchers studying ATP1B2, a key subunit of the Na+/K+ ATPase enzyme involved in maintaining ion gradients across cell membranes. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in applications such as Western blotting.ATP1B2 plays a crucial role in cellular functions such as ion transport, cell signaling, and maintaining cell volume. Dysregulation of ATP1B2 has been linked to various diseases, including neurological disorders, cardiovascular diseases, and cancer.
By detecting and analyzing ATP1B2 expression, researchers can gain insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying these conditions. With its ability to specifically bind to the ATP1B2 protein, the CAB9928 antibody enables accurate detection and localization of ATP1B2 in different cell types and tissues. This makes it an essential tool for studies in molecular biology, biochemistry, and neuroscience, enhancing our understanding of the physiological and pathological roles of ATP1B2 in health and disease.

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the family of Na+/K+ and H+/K+ ATPases beta chain proteins, and to the subfamily of Na+/K+ -ATPases. Na+/K+ -ATPase is an integral membrane protein responsible for establishing and maintaining the electrochemical gradients of Na and K ions across the plasma membrane. These gradients are essential for osmoregulation, for sodium-coupled transport of a variety of organic and inorganic molecules, and for electrical excitability of nerve and muscle. This enzyme is composed of two subunits, a large catalytic subunit (alpha) and a smaller glycoprotein subunit (beta). The beta subunit regulates, through assembly of alpha/beta heterodimers, the number of sodium pumps transported to the plasma membrane. The glycoprotein subunit of Na+/K+ -ATPase is encoded by multiple genes. This gene encodes a beta 2 subunit. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
