The ATM Polyclonal Antibody (CAB18257) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the ATM protein, which plays a crucial role in DNA damage response and maintenance of genomic stability. This antibody, raised in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications.ATM, or Ataxia Telangiectasia Mutated, is a key protein involved in sensing DNA damage and activating signaling pathways that coordinate cell cycle checkpoints, DNA repair, and apoptosis. Dysregulation of ATM function has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and immunodeficiency syndromes.
Research on ATM is vital for understanding the mechanisms underlying these conditions and developing targeted therapies.By targeting the ATM protein, researchers can investigate its role in DNA damage repair processes, cell cycle control, and cellular responses to environmental stressors. The ATM Polyclonal Antibody enables precise detection and analysis of ATM expression in diverse cell types, making it an invaluable tool for studies in cancer biology, genomics, and personalized medicine.

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the PI3/PI4-kinase family. This protein is an important cell cycle checkpoint kinase that phosphorylates; thus, it functions as a regulator of a wide variety of downstream proteins, including tumor suppressor proteins p53 and BRCA1, checkpoint kinase CHK2, checkpoint proteins RAD17 and RAD9, and DNA repair protein NBS1. This protein and the closely related kinase ATR are thought to be master controllers of cell cycle checkpoint signaling pathways that are required for cell response to DNA damage and for genome stability. Mutations in this gene are associated with ataxia telangiectasia, an autosomal recessive disorder.
