The ASIC2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB10496) is a valuable tool for researchers studying ASIC2, a protein involved in acid-sensing ion channels and important for sensory transduction and neurotransmission. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and validated for use in Western blot applications. By targeting the ASIC2 protein, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of ASIC2 in various cell types, making it ideal for studies in neuroscience and sensory biology.ASIC2 is a key player in sensory perception and pain sensation, making it a promising target for understanding conditions such as chronic pain, migraine, and neurodegenerative disorders.
Research into ASIC2 function can reveal insights into the mechanisms underlying these conditions and lead to the development of novel therapeutic strategies for managing pain and sensory processing disorders. The ASIC2 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for investigating the role of ASIC2 in health and disease, paving the way for advancements in neuroscience research.

This gene encodes a member of the degenerin/epithelial sodium channel (DEG/ENaC) superfamily. The members of this family are amiloride-sensitive sodium channels that contain intracellular N and C termini, 2 hydrophobic transmembrane regions, and a large extracellular loop, which has many cysteine residues with conserved spacing. The member encoded by this gene may play a role in neurotransmission. In addition, a heteromeric association between this member and acid-sensing (proton-gated) ion channel 3 has been observed to co-assemble into proton-gated channels sensitive to gadolinium. Alternative splicing has been observed at this locus and two variants, encoding distinct isoforms, have been identified.
