The ASB7 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB16596) is an essential tool for research involving ASB7, a protein involved in intracellular protein degradation processes such as ubiquitination. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the ASB7 protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an ideal choice for studies in molecular biology and cellular physiology.
ASB7 plays a key role in protein turnover and quality control mechanisms within the cell, making it a crucial target for research into cellular homeostasis and disease pathology. Its involvement in protein degradation processes suggests its potential relevance in conditions like neurodegenerative diseases, metabolic disorders, and cancer. Understanding the function and regulation of ASB7 is fundamental for developing targeted therapies that manipulate protein degradation pathways for therapeutic benefit.

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to a family of ankyrin repeat proteins that, along with four other protein families, contains a C-terminal SOCS box motif. Growing evidence suggests that the SOCS box acts as a bridge between specific substrate-binding domains and the more generic proteins that comprise a large family of E3 ubiquitin protein ligases. In this way, SOCS box containing proteins may regulate protein turnover by targeting proteins for polyubiquination and, therefore, for proteasome-mediated degradation. Two alternative transcripts encoding different isoforms have been described.
