The APOC2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1772) is a valuable tool for researchers investigating APOC2, a protein involved in lipid metabolism and cardiovascular health. This antibody, produced in rabbits, demonstrates high reactivity with human samples and is suitable for use in Western blot applications. By binding specifically to the APOC2 protein, researchers can effectively study its function and role in various cellular processes.APOC2 plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism by activating lipoprotein lipase, an enzyme involved in the hydrolysis of triglycerides. Dysregulation of APOC2 has been linked to disorders such as hyperlipidemia and cardiovascular disease, making it a promising target for therapeutic interventions.
Understanding the mechanisms by which APOC2 functions can provide insights into lipid metabolism and potential treatments for related conditions. With its specificity and reliability, the APOC2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1772) is an essential tool for researchers in the fields of lipid biology, cardiovascular health, and metabolic disorders. Its versatility in detecting APOC2 protein expression in various cell types makes it a valuable asset for studies aiming to unravel the complexities of lipid metabolism and its implications for human health.

This gene encodes a lipid-binding protein belonging to the apolipoprotein gene family. The protein is secreted in plasma where it is a component of very low density lipoprotein. This protein activates the enzyme lipoprotein lipase, which hydrolyzes triglycerides and thus provides free fatty acids for cells. Mutations in this gene cause hyperlipoproteinemia type IB, characterized by hypertriglyceridemia, xanthomas, and increased risk of pancreatitis and early atherosclerosis. This gene is present in a cluster with other related apolipoprotein genes on chromosome 19. Naturally occurring read-through transcription exists between this gene and the neighboring upstream apolipoprotein C-IV (APOC4) gene.
