Description
APOBEC3D/APOBEC3F Antibody (PACO23463)
The APOBEC3D/APOBEC3F Antibody (PAC023463) is a valuable tool for research involving APOBEC3D and APOBEC3F, key members of the APOBEC family of cytidine deaminases with roles in innate immunity and anti-viral defense mechanisms. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity towards human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the APOBEC3D and APOBEC3F proteins, researchers can detect and analyze these important molecules in a variety of cell types, making it ideal for investigations in virology, immunology, and cancer research. The APOBEC3 family of proteins are known for their ability to mutate viral genomes, thereby providing a crucial defense mechanism against viral infections.
APOBEC3D and APOBEC3F in particular have been linked to restricting the replication of various viruses, including HIV-1 and HBV. Understanding the function and regulation of these proteins is instrumental in uncovering potential targets for antiviral therapies and enhancing our knowledge of host-virus interactions. By utilizing the APOBEC3D/APOBEC3F Antibody in research studies, scientists can gain valuable insights into the mechanisms underlying viral restriction and immune responses, ultimately paving the way for innovative approaches to combat viral infections and develop novel treatments for viral-related diseases.

Background: | DNA deaminase (cytidine deaminase) which acts as an inhibitor of retrovirus replication and retrotransposon mobility via deaminase-dependent and -independent mechanisms. Exhibits antiviral activity against vif-deficient HIV-1. After the penetration of retroviral nucleocapsids into target cells of infection and the initiation of reverse transcription, it can induce the conversion of cytosine to uracil in the minus-sense single-strand viral DNA, leading to G-to-A hypermutations in the subsequent plus-strand viral DNA. The resultant detrimental levels of mutations in the proviral genome, along with a deamination-independent mechanism that works prior to the proviral integration, together exert efficient antiretroviral effects in infected target cells. Selectively targets single-stranded DNA and does not deaminate double-stranded DNA or single-or double-stranded RNA. May inhibit the mobility of LTR and non-LTR retrotransposons. |
