Description
APOA1 Monoclonal Antibody [PAT1E12AT] (CPAB0016)
The APOA1 Polyclonal Antibody (CPAB0016) is specifically designed for research involving APOA1, a key protein involved in lipid metabolism and cholesterol transport. This antibody, generated in rabbits, offers high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the APOA1 protein, researchers can accurately detect and analyze its presence in various cell types, making it a valuable tool for studies in cardiovascular disease, lipid disorders, and other related research areas.APOA1, also known as apolipoprotein A1, plays a crucial role in the formation of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) particles, commonly known as "good cholesterol." By promoting the reverse cholesterol transport pathway, APOA1 aids in removing excess cholesterol from peripheral tissues and transporting it back to the liver for excretion.
This function is essential for maintaining healthy lipid levels and preventing the development of atherosclerosis and other cardiovascular diseases. The significance of APOA1 in lipid metabolism and cardiovascular health makes it an important target for research aimed at understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying these processes. Investigating the role of APOA1 in disease pathology can provide valuable insights for developing new therapeutic strategies to treat conditions related to dyslipidemia and atherosclerosis. Fortified with the APOA1 Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can delve deeper into the intricate functions of this protein and its potential implications in health and disease.

Background: | APOA1 (Apolipoprotein A-1) is a human protein with a specific role in lipid metabolism being the main protein component of HDL in the plasma. APOA1 promotes cholesterol efflux from tissues to the liver for excretion. Furthermore, APOA1 is a cofactor for LCAT, which is responsible for the formation of most plasma cholesteryl esters. In addition, APOA1 activates spermatozoa motility as part of the SPAP complex. The APOA1 gene is strongly linked with two other apolipoprotein genes on chromosome 11. Defects in the APOA1 gene are linked to HDL deficiency including Tangier disease, and with systemic non-neuropathic amyloidosis. High levels of APOA1 are linked to the manifestation of asthma and atopy. |
